Alive Network Recording Studios Redesign: Phase 2
In 2013 we completely redesigned our in-house recording studio ... again! This time we significantly upgraded the acoustic treatment throughout, also adding mood lighting and a huge array of new gear and instruments. Check out the latest images below.
Our plan is to build one of the best recording studios in the UK, even if it takes us 20 years to do it! Each passing year sees substantial improvements at our modest HQ facility, and 2013 was no exception.
The 2013 redesign significantly upgraded the control room, live room and vocal booth acoustics, as well as adding a large number of new high quality outboard items. Alive HQ Recording Studio now houses the largest collection of boutique analogue recording equipment in the area!
We added a number of new outboard items this year, including the Manley Massive Passive EQ, a Manley Vari Mu compressor, two Heritage Audio 1073 pre/eqs, four Classic API mic pres and a Millenia NSEQ-2 stereo equaliser, amongst others.
Alive HQ is now one of the best spec'd professional recording studios in The Midlands.

Half of the new live room space. To extend the studio space further we knocked through into the next building and relocated an area previously used as office space. The new 'live room' area measures 40 square meters, and features 3 movable acoustic gobos to control and modify the room's acoustics.
We added a popular new addition to the studio - high quality 16 channel personal headphone monitoring system, enabling each musician to personally mix their own headphones.
We redesigned, spacious vocal / overdubbing booth, with video link to control room and live room, and of course .... mood lighting!
2014 and onwards ......
Watch out for the next studio development blog which will see the studio jump up into another league all together when we take delivery in February 2014 of our SSL 404G+ mixing desk plus Pro Tools HDX2 with 48 simultaneous ins and outs!! It's going to be an amazing year!
