DJ Guy Stevens Entertains a Host of TV Stars at Paul O’Grady’s 60th Birthday Party
Party DJ For Hire.
Saturday 13th June 2015 – The Blue Print Café, London
The sparkling event for Paul O'Grady was held at the Blue Print Café in Butler’s Wharf. This first floor venue has fabulous views of Tower Bridge and the river Thames through its full length sliding glass panels. Alive Network's Guy Stevens played some gentle jazz and soulful tunes as guests arrived to sip Veuve Clicquot and snack on delicious canapés. Paul’s friends and family chatted while the sun set behind the City of London skyline and bowl food was served.
Later, Guy’s PA and radio microphone were used for a couple of speeches by the guests then toasts to O'Grady were followed by a few amusing words from the Birthday boy himself. Birthday candles were extinguished and the cake was cut to a rousing chorus of “Happy Birthday”
As the sun disappeared and the City’s lights twinkled on the water of the Thames, Guy raised the volume slightly, switched on the discothèque lights and played the first of the evening’s party tracks. The first two dancers on the floor were Anita Dobson (Angie Watts in Eastenders) and Lesley Joseph (Dorien Green, Birds of a Feather), they had some splendid moves to Jackie Wilson's “Higher & Higher”.
Later in the evening Paul took to the dance floor with Liverpudlian TV royalty Cilla Black OBE. Other guests included Barbara Windsor, Rock Legend Brian May, Janet Street-Porter, Bill Roache, Helen Worth (Gail Tilsley, Coronation Street), Bonnie Langford, Celia Imrie (Miss Babs from Acorn Antiques), Linda Thorson (Tara King in the Avengers) and Eastenders stars Cheryl Fergison (Heather Trott), Jessie Wallace (Kat Slater) and Linda Henry (Shirley Carter).
