Who Would You Take On An All-Star-Artist Stag Do?

Stag parties have the stigma attached to them that they’re all about drinking and doing things behind your wife-to-be’s back, although when all of that is stripped away what they are actually about is spending time with your closest friends… and there’s nothing bad about that is there?

Of course when you’re close to getting hitched you’ll be celebrating with your friends both new and old, but just like we all sit round when bored and talk about who you would invite to a dinner party out of everyone that has ever existed – I’m now wondering – what musicians would you bring along to your stag party? From the present to the past, this is my pick of the bunch and I already have the feeling some readers won’t agree with mine… so I already apologise for not choosing Bruce Springsteen or Frank Sinatra, but here we go:

Johnny Cash

Kicking things off with a true legend, who could pass up the chance to get things started on their stag do than with a round of Ring of Fire with the man himself? For that alone Mr. Cash makes the list but like many others here, you know he’d have some stories to tell… From his times with Elvis to his prison shows.

The Rolling Stones

How could you possibly have any party filled with musicians without inviting The Rolling Stones along? I was aiming to choose single artists as opposed to whole bands, but the toss-up between Mick Jagger or Keith Richards was basically impossible… They’re 2 of the biggest rock stars of all time!

John Lennon

Okay so I’m bringing all of The Rolling Stones but only one Beatle. Harsh I know, but I’m sure John can hold his own. Forget about Bieber and any Beatlemania, this is really the man that took the world by storm and did it all with his genius music (backed up by 3 other kings I must add).

Jay-Z

Okay this choice has kind of stopped the trend of the greats probably everyone would agree with, however as far as present times go you would be hard pushed to find anyone that is as big Jay-Z right now. He’s basically the CEO of music and whether that is because he’s in the ‘Illuminati’ or because he works so damn hard with so many other artists, he’s got an invite… and we’ll be drinking his very own brand of vodka.

Jimi Hendrix

Last on the list but definitely not least, we’ve got another legend of music (I’m feeling bad for the artists of today but when it comes to an All-Star stag weekend they just don’t really compare). If Johnny Cash is bringing the Ring of Fire then Hendrix is bringing a guitar of fire and you can be sure you’re in for a crazy night and some of the best music around.

Someone that isn’t getting an Invite: Bono

Let me start by apologising to all the U2 fans out there. I agree, they put out incredible music but c’mon this is Bono we’re talking about. Me, Jay-Z and Lennon fancy a bit of paintballing but oh no – Bono is too good for that. If there’s ever going to be a party pooper, I’m willing to bet it’s him.

Agree or disagree? If I had my way there would be a good 20 more musicians going but you know, with all these big names going you’ve got to cut costs somewhere… Who would make yours?
