The Swing Smiths Perform at The Enigma Ball at Bletchley Park, Buckinghamshire

On Saturday 26^th November The Swing Smiths performed at the Enigma Ball - an evening for the Transgender Community and ‘Friends With Open Minds’ to get out their most outrageous frocks and enjoy a fabulous, glammed-up evening!

Top swing and soul corporate event band, The Swing Smiths had performed at the previous ball – "A Right Royal Do" (the Saturday after The Royal Wedding) in April 2011 – so were delighted to receive the invitation to perform for the next ball.

The venue for the evening was Bletchley Park – home of the Enigma code-breakers in World War II.

The evening started with a red carpet champagne reception, and a chance to compare frocks.

Then it was time to move into the ballroom, where the band started playing a mixture of classic swing and big band tunes which got everyone up and dancing straight away.

The dancing was so energetic that lots of jewellery was going missing, so Mike had a lovely time chatting with the guests, making special announcements, and taking the odd request.

With a huge repertoire of Swing, Rat Pack, Jive, Soul and Motown music The Swing Smiths are the perfect band providing corporate entertainment, wedding music and party classics at any event.

After the second set the band enjoyed a much-needed break from the energetic playing and boogying while our gorgeous host Kathy drew the raffle.

After the raffle the band launched into their soul and Motown set - the crowd response was incredible and the reaction to Chaka Khan’s "I’m Every Woman" was amazing, with all 200 guests singing and dancing along.

At midnight the band finished performing – but the party was only just starting, as everyone was off to Pink Punters nightclub to see the evening out in style.

It was a truly memorable night and one of the best, most responsive and enthusiastic audiences ever!
