Alive Network Artist Awards 2015

The Alive Network Awards 2015 were hosted on the evening of Wednesday, 28th of October 2015 at Alive Network’s Headquarters in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire. The first Alive Network Awards evening was put on for a number of reasons: to reward our artists on the development program for all their hard work this year; to provide them with valuable business insights from the previous year and advice for the coming year; and finally, to provide a rare chance to meet the other managed bands (they're often gigging at the same time at different places across the UK) and the Alive Network staff in a more sociable setting. In other words, it was our opportunity to bring all the bands together to share stories, catch-up and have a laugh to make them feel more connected to Alive Network. 

The event was brilliantly organised and directed by our very own Clare Hargreaves and all the staff chipped in to lend a hand prior to and during the event (-usually swapping empty glasses for full ones!). The plan was for everyone to begin the evening at a very dressed-up Alive Network office. When 6pm arrived, Alive staff Rich, Emily and Laura were stationed at the reception, greeting bands, giving out name badges and taking coats; Joe and Nick were in the kitchen preparing Joe’s amazing homemade cheese oatcakes, parma ham tarts and lemon & pea crusty bread canapes! The rest of the staff provided the friendly faces and chit-chat before directing the bands to our cocktail bar, complete with two slick and skillful bartenders. To top the atmosphere off, Lee Mathews provided some lovely background lounge music using his baby grand piano, which added an extra bit of pizzazz to the event.

Later in the evening, Dave Bevan (Managing Director) made his awesome presentation, which took around 30 minutes and included lots of juicy stats, tips, the latest news and a look into what the future had instore. The bands were focused and listening intently to what Dave had to say - albeit swaying a bit after a few glasses of cocktails!! So, once they’d all absorbed the wonderful information and insights Dave had put to them, it was time to start handing awards out...

The Awards

The main principle of the awards evening was to have fun, gain business tips & insights, meet staff and the other bands on the development program. But there’s nothing wrong with a bit of competition and certainly nothing wrong with rewarding the best artists for outstanding achievement.
