Full Biography
Luka was born and raised in Japan and is currently settled in York. Her passions are music, art, and history and she especially finds beauty in the glamorous world of vintage culture and jazz.
Her unique singing background started in Nagauta (traditional Japanese music which accompanies the Kabuki theatre). Later, Luka joined a jazz band in Japan. She fell in love not only with jazz songs but also the style: gorgeous dresses, perfect hair, make-up and charismatic personalities such as her idols Julie London and Peggy Lee.
Performing to the highest quality backing tracks Luka’s soft, warm voice carries elegance and sophistication. Performing jazz standards with an air of romance, beautiful ballads, up-tempo bossa nova and Latin pieces, Luka’s live sets are perfectly suited to hotel residencies, drinks reception and private parties. Luka has performed in some of London's best 5 star hotels such as The Savoy Hotel, The Londoner Hotel and popular places such as Brasserie Zédel, Nightjar and Oriole bar.
Creative to her core, Luka has created a look and sound that brings glamour to every stage she graces. Having worked as a professional make-up artist for 10 years, Luka styles her own hair and makeup for every performance. Much of her wardrobe is bespoke too; with Luka often sewing her own stunning dresses.
In 2024, Luka released her first EP “Isn’t It Romantic?”. The EP celebrates her love of jazz. Simple but sophisticated sounds with a selection of love songs that inspire her. The album was recorded at the award winning Morningstar Studios in the US.
