Band for a wedding: choosing a live wedding band

By far the most popular type of live band for a wedding is a rock and pop wedding band. These bands play a wide mix of music which will be suitable for all age groups and which is designed to get people dancing. They will cover all the well known hits from 60s through to current chart acts, including music from bands like The Beatles, The Stones, Van Morrison, The Killers, Robbie Williams, Kings of Leon, The Jam, Oasis, Blur, Elvis etc.

Other types of live music for your evening wedding party

There are many popular variations on the rock and pop band theme such as Soul Motown bands or 70s disco funk bands. These are great if you want something a bit different to the norm.

You can also go all out on the theming and hire a tribute band. However, it pays to stick with only the most popular types of tribute band otherwise guests who aren't so familiar with the music will get bored and they won't dance.
