If anyone is reading this and wondering whether it works to have a sitar player playing during an indian wedding ceremony - it definitely does! Ravi is a great artist to book, knows exactly what he is doing and I highly recommend him. I LOVED having Ravi there during the wedding. He put everyone at ease while they were waiting and during the religious ceremony he knew exactly what to do. Ravi was sensitive to the priest but also knew when to play music that was a bit louder and more dramatic (for example during my entrance to the mandap and when we walked around the fire). It was so much nicer having live music than having a DJ, it really created a lovely atmosphere!
