How much does it cost to hire an acoustic singer?
Our acoustic singers cost from £196 to £931. The average price of an acoustic singer guitarist in 2024 was £436. Prices vary depending on experience, demand, size of act, travel costs and the specs of the equipment provided. We will always do our best to help you find an acoustic act within your budget, so please get in touch if you can't find what you're looking for.
How far in advance do I need to book?
The most popular singers will get booked 12-18 months in advance, but 6 - 9 months is usually enough to ensure a reasonable choice of artists. The more time you leave yourself, the better choice you'll have.
What kind of songs do acoustic singers play?
Acoustic artists are incredibly versatile, and are able to create an arrangement of pretty much any song you could think of. From acoustic music by the likes of Ed Sheeran, Jack Johnson, Mumford and Sons, Joni Mitchell, The Beatles and Simon and Garfunkel, through to smash hits by rock and pop icons like Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, The Killers, Oasis, Foo Fighters, The Weeknd, Avicii and many more - singer guitarists will be able to cover it all.
Popular wedding songs include "Perfect" and "Thinking Out Loud" by Ed Sheeran, "All You Need Is Love" by The Beatles, "Marry You" by Bruno Mars, "I'm Yours" by Jason Mraz and "Make You Feel My Love" by Bob Dylan / Adele.
Will acoustic singers learn my first dance or a special request?
Yes - most acoustic singers will learn special requests given enough notice. This includes a special song for your first dance, or it could be a special song to walk up or down the aisle to. Some solo acoustic artists might charge a small fee to learn a special request.
Will you take requests from guests?
Yes - most acoustic guitar players will be happy to take requests from guests. Look out for out for our acoustic jukebox acts who make this a feature of their performances.
Will an acoustic singer perform during different parts of my event?
Yes it's quite common for acoustic singers for hire to get booked for different parts of an event, for example: an outdoor drinks reception and then an evening party.
For weddings, it's also common to book for the wedding ceremony and drinks reception, or wedding breakfast and evening party. Some artists can perform an acoustic set of wedding music for the afternoon reception, and switch to electric guitar performing over backing tracks for the evening party.
With their smaller cost and space requirements, it's also popular to book singing guitarists for an evening party instead of a band.
How much space and what other requirements will you need?
An acoustic guitarist singer offers the ability to fit into almost any space, requiring only around 2m x 2m. If they're performing through a PA system, they'll need a 13 amp plug socket in close proximity to the performance area.
How long does it take you to set up and how long will you play for?
Most professional acoustic guitar singers can easily set-up within 30 minutes. A standard performance time would be 2 x 45 minute sets, but it's also common to book a 1 hour set, or 2 x 60 minute sets. The performance times available for each of our acoustic artists is displayed on their profile page.
Are you able to perform outdoors?
Yes - but you must ensure the artist has access to suitable cover in case of poor weather, and access to a safe power supply for their PA system.
Will a guitar singer offer any packages like extra members or a DJ service?
Most acoustic guitarist singers will provide background music in between their live sets, and some offer a full DJ service after their live sets for evening bookings, although this is usually at an additional cost. Alive Network can also tailor a wedding DJ and guitarist package for you.
Some guitarists also offer expanded line-ups with additional musicians, such as an acoustic duo consisting of: two guitarists, guitar and bass, guitar and percussion, guitar and saxophone or guitar and keyboards.
Some musicians also offer the option to record a special version of your first dance, or a special request, as a keepsake.
All of the booking options available per artist can be viewed on their profile pages.
