“The Family made an incredible addition to our wedding. We knew we wanted a band with soul, who would get the dancing going during our reception and they certainly delivered on that! From our first meeting with Pete a few months before we knew we were in safe hands as Pete was so professional and also really helpful as we planned out the timings for our reception. He also suggested that as well as a first dance, we pick an exit anthem to end our night! On the day we were running pretty late, almost an hour over schedule. The Family were incredibly gracious, not batting an eyelid, and they even started their soundcheck outside so that we could make up some of the time. Then from the very first song they had people up and dancing with an amazing mix of tunes, crossing genres and generations, with some very cool mash ups in there too! Our exit anthem (Uptown Funk!) was an absolutely brilliant way to end our night, but the band didn’t stop there. They kept playing after we had gone, keeping our guests dancing for as long as possible! Their ipad DJ was also a really great add on, especially as they had asked us if we had any requests beforehand. We wanted our wedding to be joyful and fun, and we could not have asked for a better fit in The Family.””

““We first saw The Family play at one of our Friends’ weddings. Although my wife and I were not engaged at the time we immediately turned to one another and agreed if we ever got married then we wanted ‘that band’ to play at our wedding. Fast forward a year or so and we were planning our own wedding. ‘That band’ turned out to be Pete and The Family and so we booked them and they truly didn’t disappoint! The whole process of working with Pete was a pleasure, he is genuine, friendly and easy to deal with. We were given options over the musicians and instruments we wanted including on the night. This was great as it gave us options to fine tune the sound and vibe we were looking to achieve as well as some flexibility on cost. Pete dealt with our venue over the boring liability insurance and technical requirements so we didn’t need to worry about any of that. The band have a great core set list covering all the funky classics as well as some amazing funk inspired covers that you might not expect! They also learned a couple of songs especially for us including our first dance song which was an amazing performance and now a very special memory! The response of our guests was exactly what we wanted. It was all variations on a theme about how good a party we threw and Pete and The Family were an integral part of that. We would not hesitate to recommend Pete and the The Family as a friendly, professional and extremely talented band guaranteed to get your guests dancing!””

““Thankyou again for playing at our wedding, your band were amazing (well I knew you would be). We loved the soulful and funky tunes, they definitely helped everyone get out of their seats and dance. We had so many good comments about the night, from the funky tunes to Tolu’s cool and soulful voice ?? The band really made it a special night for Darren and I and our family and friends. “No other wedding band could have completed the atmosphere for our reception like The Family. The whole group are so fun and friendly with an exquisite level of musicianship. Our guests were a pretty shy bunch but The Family had them up and dancing from the start. Their tunes are irresistible and they know exactly to how to get a party moving! Every aspect was spot on, and the band worked around us and our day. Even in planning, Pete was diligent yet easy going, knowing how much pressure already goes into wedding preparation. I can’t thank the band enough for what they brought to our wedding!”

““When planning my wedding I didn’t really think too much about the music, I was just going to book a DJ and hope for the best, I thought a Manchester wedding band would be too loud in my venue. When at a wedding fair at the Last Drop hotel I was very surprised by how much I loved The Family. I contacted Pete thinking that it was too short notice for them to be available on my wedding day. Fortunately they were, Pete was very helpful in planning the sets and even accepted with excitement the mash up we wanted for our first dance. I felt that after meeting Pete and discussing the song list I could trust them to sort everything out and I could just enjoy the day. On the day I didn’t even notice the band setting up as we were having drinks outside. Then when starting our first dance I can’t explain how pleased I was with the mash up they prepared for us, I really enjoyed the whole thing as usually I don’t like people looking at me but I was lost in the music and just had fun. The whole night was amazing everyone of my guests mentioned to me how amazing the band were and the dance floor was full all night. I would recommend The Family to anyone who wants to have a fun night of dancing for any occasion. My husband and I are looking forward to going to one of their gigs in Hale to enjoy the music again.””

“Manchester wedding band The Family went out as a smaller acoustic duo to celebrate David and Rachel’s wedding. We loved playing at the boutique Didsbury Eleven hotel venue and the guests were absolutely awesome. We even got a few requests in there, brilliant fun! Check out the awesome review from the bride and groom… “An amazing find- The Family made our wedding even more utterly brilliant than it already was! The music is such an important factor in the day and these guys really did exceed our expectations. Smooth, funky and everyone had a good boogie! Everyone commented on how ace they were and some of our friends have already been asked for their details for future bookings. Adam and Tolu really were brilliant and it felt like they were one of our guests for the evening, just perfect. They were extremely professional with all correspondence, all queries were answered promptly and they worked sensitively with the venue, we could only have a small band due to residential issues, and The Family worked around this seemlessly and were so flexible. Can’t go wrong with these guys- will definitely use them again.””

“We booked The Family on the strength of their reviews and promo video and we could not have made a better choice. Weddings are stressful to plan but these guys made the whole process so easy and took all the worry away with their iPad Dj playlists and their options for different music styles for the different parts of the day! Not only did the band work with us on creating an acoustic section, a special nursery rhyme funk playlist for our toddler friendly wedding disco but when it was time for the grown ups to get down, the band just took it to another level. These guys really enjoy what they do and I think that’s what makes their game so much stronger than other wedding bands around. They can take any song and change it up live lounge style or give it a whole new flavour and keep you dancing for hours! By the end of the night the cries for ‘one more song’ were ringing out! And one guest recently told me it was like having Pharrell at the wedding… I will definitely be booking these guys again for my 30th birthday party and in fact any occasion where I need music!””
