“Hi Graham We just wanted to drop you a note to say how impressed we were with Effigy who played at our wedding reception on Friday 7th August. The band could not have been more helpful, friendly and accommodating to us and they made our fabulous day even more special. All our guests have commented on how brilliant they thought the guys were and everyone was up dancing all night. “We hired Effigy for our wedding and we cannot believe how good they were. Our initial fears were that the music would not be to all of our guests tastes but Ian from the band re-assured me that all ages would be up dancing and he was exactly right! A very professional outfit and they were always very approachable and accommodated all requests that we had - from the chief bridesmaid announcing our first dance through to introducing my Nan so she could do a speech. They also let one of our party play bass for one song as well as getting my wife and bridesmaids up as backing singers for Mustang Sally. Truly brilliant. I would say that if you are looking for a polished live rock/pop band then you shouldn't look any further than Effigy as they definitely made our evening. Also the service provided by the Alive Network was first class from start to finish and will allay and answer any fears/questions extremely promptly. I will, and already have, recommend this service to others and will definitely use them again if I want to hire a live band. Thanks one and all for such a fabulous experience, Danny & Debbie ”

“Hi Nick, Thanks for your kind remarks. The day went fantastically well, and all the things that might have gone wrong went like clockwork. One of my main concerns was the band, as I had selected them 'blind' from your website, and had not had the opportunity to see them. I needn't have worried. Effigy were fantastic. We had the ceremony, the wedding breakfast, and the evening reception, all in the same room in the hotel, so the scheduling for changing the room around twice in the same day was pretty tight. Not only were the staff in the hotel amazingly efficient, the band were also more than punctual, arriving more than two hours before we had requested them to be there, so there was no looking at the clock and worrying when they might arrive. They had turned up during the wedding breakfast, and I met the guys afterwards, sitting quietly outside drinking tea. Not very rock'n'roll, but very professional. I also found all the guys to be very approachable and friendly. Ian had also been very good, contacting me 3 weeks before the event, and agreeing the playlist. As soon as the room had been cleared after the meal, the band quickly set up their gear, and proceeded with the sound check, which immediately set my mind at ease as they sounded very good indeed. As for the evening itself, the band were excellent. From the 'first dance' until the final encore, the dance floor was continually in use. They played a wide range of musical styles, and every song was played at a very high standard indeed, and true to the original versions. We had 4 generations of family and friends at the gig, and I have yet to hear any negative comments on the band, and have received many unprompted comments saying just how good they were (not just the usual, polite, 'had a really nice time' sort of thing, but genuine compliments). I would have no hesitation in recommending Ian and the boys for a wedding or any other kind of function where people want a high standard of music, and a really good time. “Hello Gemma I'm going to write to Effigy and Adrian Hughes individually to express our thanks, but please emphasise to them just how pleased we were with the evening's entertainment. As well as being delighted with the acts, it was a pleasure to deal with you and I must compliment you on the way you were always very quick to respond to my contacts with you and also say thank you for providing such great entertainers. I will definitely recommend Alive Network to our friends who are arranging up-coming weddings! Having read their very positive feedback and listened to the sampler CD sent to us by Gemma at Alive Network, we were relatively confident that we had chosen the right sort of sound to cater for the very varied musical tastes of our guests. However, Effigy’ performance (2 x 1 hour sets) more than exceeded our expectations: the guys were polished, professional, approachable, had a great sound and created the fabulous party atmosphere that we had so wanted to achieve. Ian, from the band, had been in regular contact with my son a few weeks preceding the wedding, giving us confidence in their professionalism in making sure everything was just right. We were also very impressed with the way they learnt the 'first dance' request (Love Song by 311) within a relatively short period of time and performed a version which was possibly even better than the original! Our one fear, prior to the day, was that a live band might be a little loud for some of our guests but that certainly wasn’t the case and the feedback we’ve had from everyone has been overwhelmingly positive: all agreed that Effigy played an important part in ensuring that a perfect day ended with an amazing party! I would definitely recommend Effigy and Alive Network to anyone currently thinking about live music for an evening wedding reception or similar event. Thank you! Kind regards, Bev Picariello”

“Gemma, Effigy played at our wedding on 5/7/08. They were magnificent!!    5 star    10 out of 10! I've passed my thanks to the band, but just wanted you to know how good they were as well. They played 3 - 45 minute sets, and at no point was the dance floor ever empty. Children, teenagers, adults, and OAPs all danced to this band. They were very good. I lost count of the number of people that approached me, commented on how good the band were and where we'd found them! This was nothing short of an indictment on how well they performed. I will certainly recommend them to anyone seeking similar entertainment. The night ended with 'I predict a riot' - had the dance floor packed, and the guests shouting for more - absolutely perfect. “Hi Paul I would love you to add my comments to their website. The band were <b>AMAZING!!!</b> They played all the right sort of music that we wanted to hear and also managed to keep everyone up dancing all the time. Every person has commented to Sharon and I about how good they were. It also made things extra special by them letting Bryan one of my ushers get up and play with them on drums. It is hard to choose a band from just listening to a few songs on a demo CD and the cost isn't always cheap either but we certainly made the right choice. If anyone is looking for a really cool band to play at an event I would recommend Effigy every time. They have a great repertoire of songs, they look like a cool band and they were also very friendly and professional. Thankyou once again for making our wedding evening that little bit more extra special. I would also like to thank you Paul and your company for arranging things for me. As I said before picking a band from a demo CD isn't easy and it's also not cheap to have a band play but we made the right choice. Could you please forward this email onto the band to thank them.
