“It was truly wonderful to have Alina playing the harp at my Mother’s memorial service. I’m so glad that having had the initial idea to have a harpist play, that you’d engaged her services only a few hours later. It was all so easy. She played with such grace and the pieces of music we chose and some she suggested, all fitted beautifully within the service. She was punctual and set up with no fuss, polite and respectful even in the correspondence before the service. A complete delight to work with. What blew us away, is that at the end of the service, my Mother and Father’s ashes (finally together again) were buried outside in the churchyard. The Chancel door was open and even though she’d got through all the agreed repertoire and could have packed up, Alina decided to play a composition of her own called ’Spero’ (Hope) at the moment the casket was buried and during the ashes to ashes part of the service. What an incredibly beautiful composition and gesture. It raised everything at that moment to an even higher level, genuine thanks always for that. We’ll never forget her playing that day. Sublime.”
