Full Biography
The Minerva String Quartet is a small select pool of experienced professional musicians working as a string quartet. As much at home playing in a concert hall as at a wedding venue, the Quartet has given concerts for music societies and festivals across the South West and Wales, including the Three Choirs’ Festival in Hereford.
They have recorded for BBC Radio 4, providing incidental music for such plays as The Rime of the Ancient Mariner and Orchestra Paloma and have also recorded the music for Channel 4’s series Victoria and Albert. The quartet also features on the albums of the cult pop group Porcupine Tree and the Japanese vocalist Halo.
Members of the group also work as freelance orchestral musicians and have performed with a variety of ensembles and orchestras including BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, English Symphony Orchestra, Joensuu City Orchestra (Finland), Orchestra of Welsh National Opera, London City Ballet, Bristol (Emerald) Ensemble, and Bristol Old Vic Theatre Company.
The Minerva String Quartet has an extensive and eclectic repertoire and can provide music suitable for all special occasions - weddings, receptions, dinners, corporate functions, birthday & Christmas parties, product launches, garden parties, art exhibitions and banquets.
The group's professionalism, reliability and quality of playing is recognised by many venues that are happy to recommend them to their clients. Amongst the venues we play at regularly are St. Audries Park,Goldney House,Clearwell Castle, Thornbury Castle, Kings Weston House and Llansantffraed Court.
The quartet is based in North Somerset and cover mainly the Midlands, South West and South Wales.
