Formed in 2001 Grand Central have become popular amongst the wedding and corporate circuit. Knowing that a function can have an age range that sometimes covers 70 years Grand Central aim to entertain everybody. Nobody is left out as their songlist ranges from the 1950’s through to current chart hits. The band covers everything from Rock and Pop Motown and Disco Funk and Soul. Each member of Grand Central are 100% committed to every single performance each creating a dynamic and energetic stage presence. Slick 4 part harmonies are extensively used throughout their repetoire making them not only fun to dance to but providing your ears with lots of tasty treats. Their level of professionalism and experience will ensure that the one thing you don’t have to worry about on the night is the music. They will also gladly offer advice free of charge to help your event run as smoothly as possible on the night. Grand Central will play up to 2 hours of live music-either 2 x 60 mins or 3 x 40 mins sets.

Grand Central provide all sound and lighting equipment for up to 400 people. Equipment and engineers can be outsourced for larger audiences with ease. A compact, high powered medium sized lighting system and 3kW PA an allows them to set up and sound check with the greatest efficiency. A 16 channel Yamaha Sound desk has all vocals and instruments mixed to perfection in all kinds of acoustic environments. Top Quality Senheiser Vocal microphones make all the vocals cut through so every single lyric and harmony will be heard. Grand Central also provide a separate an industry standard Shure SM58 if a microphone is required for speeches.

Grand Central can provide background music with MP3 and can tailor it to the requirements of the client. They also provide floor fillers in between their sets with the use of a ipod running through their PA.

The band have had many highlights however playing for Dennis Waterman (Minder/New Tricks) and various other celebrities including Amanda Redman, Hannah Waterman, Warren Clarke, George Cole rates as being a priviledge. Both Dennis and Warren now use Grand Central for all of their Charity Golf Day entertainment needs as well as end of filming parties. British musical dignitries such as Kenny Lynch, Brian Bennett, John Lodge have even got up and jammed with the band. Russ Abbott has even shown that he has rhythm and had a bash on the drums on several occasions.

THE BAND
Sam-Lead male vocal
Sam has been with Grand Central since 2009 and has one of the finest rock/soul voices in the country. He has an amazing vocal range and is a pleasure to watch perform.

You may recognize Sam if you're a Dizzee Rascal fan as he sings with him and his band at festivals and large events.

Sam has also been the lead singer of Ultravox, Ya Ya and Burns Blue. As a successful recording artist he has worked with The Streets on Dry Your Eyes, Phat Beach on The Baywatch theme- I'll be Ready, Professor Green, Vanessa Amorosi, Michael Ball, Monserratt Caballe, The Bays, Young Punx, Phonat. Thomas the Tank Engine (oh yes!) and New Tricks backing vocals only (Dennis sang the theme tune Sam sang backing vocals)

Salena-Lead female vocal
Salena is the most recent addition to Grand Central. Her voice is wonderfully soulful combined with great power and range.

As a singer/songwriter from London she is studying a Degree in music, such is her dedication to sharpen her tools and become the best she can be.

Salena has performed in venues all over the UK including Matter O2, the IndigO2, The Bedford, The Cobden Club and Water Rats to name a few!. Performing live to an audience is what Salena was born for.

Her influences include Jill Scott, Ledisi, Aretha Franklin, Massive Attack and Zero 7 to name a few. She is currently writing with various artists and recording her debut EP with top line producers.

Salena also has a degree in fashion and is an accomplished horse rider and show jumper.

Dave-Guitar/backing vocals
Dave is a fine guitarist. His approach to playing and style help to give Grand Central their notorious big sound and his versatility enables the band to play anything from soul rhythms to anthemic rock. His attention to detail is strengthened by his ability to reproduce almost any guitar tone.

Dave has played with artists as diverse as Rick Wakeman and Janie Lee Grace (Singer, TV presenter/DJ) over the years. He has also owned a recording studio for a while and worked on many projects, including Doris Brendel's (of Violet Hour) last two albums and Roger Flavell's (of Christie) last album. Dave has most recently written and recorded music for About Her, a film due for release next year to be directed by Nigel Douglas. He hopes to get some work as an extra if they'll have him.

Leo-Dums/backing vocals
A graduate of the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford, Leo passed the Higher Diploma with 8 out of 8 distinctions. He won full scholarship for the degree course and was also kindly sponsored by Phil Collins to continue his studies.

Having moved to London in 2005 Leo has worked a lot playing for television, radio and theatre. Leo joined critically acclaimed band 'The New York Fund ' and toured heavily supporting Ash, Dirty Pretty Things, The Hold Steady and Newton Faulkner. They released an EP in 2007, with one track making it onto Dermot O'leary's saturday sessions record.

In 2010 Leo started playing for Amercian country singer Nell Bryden. They have toured playing venues such as The Albert Hall and Hyde Park and she has now sold 20,000 records here in the UK!

Leo joined Grand Central in 2006 and loves every minute of it! "This is a fantastic band, driven, energetic and bags of fun!"

Pete-Bass guitar/backing vocals
Pete has knocked up a cool 20 years experience as a bass player. During his industrious career he has been in and out of studios and his live performance has taken him as far afield as Bahrain and Philadelphia PA.

Before joining Grand Central in 2001, he played in various function bands such as The Fake McCoys, The Fabulous Feedback Band and Heaven at venues such as Wentworth Golf Club, Hatfield House and regular public appearances at The Roadhouse, The Redback and Break for the Border Other venues include The Borderline, The Marquee. 

He has played with the likes of Clune (David Gray) and Trevor Morrell (Wham!) and believes one of the highlights in his career was when he supported The Bay City Rollers.
