By the age of five Tia knew she wanted to be a pianist. She began her training with Lesley Bolton, moving to Ian Ray after achieving Grade 8 distinction in 2004 and learnt with Australian Concert Pianist, Lesley Young, whilst at University. She now takes guidance from the world-renowned concert pianist Noriko Ogawa. She graduated from the University of Essex, Colchester Institute of Music and Performing Arts, with a BA (Hons) Music Degree, winning the Canon Jack Award for Solo Piano in March 2010.

Tia thoroughly enjoys working for P & O Cruises and Fred Olsen Cruise Lines as a guest concert pianist delivering lecture recitals, and has been delighting audiences with her exciting and varied programmes around the world. Between cruises she regularly gives solo recitals in the UK.

Tia often competes in competitions, winning twice "The Suffolk Pianoforte Championship’ which took her to the National competition, ‘The Emmanuel Trophy’, held in London. As well as competitions she has participated in many master classes, working with concert pianists such as John York, Noriko Ogawa, Victor Sangiorgio and Andrew Ball.

In 2009 Tia was asked to record a music video for Chancellor Films which would be used to publicise and represent a branch of the business for unsigned, up-and-coming musicians wanting to make videos to send to places of work. Her video can be found on Youtube as well as on this website under the ‘recordings’ section. Due to the success of this video she has been asked to play in more videos for the company.

Tia enjoys many aspects of music and has been an active accompanist and part of a piano duet for several years. Composition is also a passion, writing for a variety of ensembles, orchestras and soloists. As a student she has had experience in musical direction, directing small ensembles, choirs and orchestras.
