Full Biography

Silver Screen are an experienced trio passionate about delivering live jazz at special events across the UK.

Performing from a large repertoire of cherished jazz standards including A Foggy Day, Cheek To Cheek and Take Five, plus popular rock and pop tunes from Stevie Wonder, Radiohead and Nina Simone restyled in a jazz fashion, Silver Screen can design a sophisicated soundtrack to accompany your event.

Showcasing rich musical talent, Silver Screen's members are all graduates from leading London music conservatoires including Guildhall School of Music, Royal College of Music and Trinity Laban Conservatoire.

As individual musicians, the trio's members have performed across the world as well as entertaining crowds at established UK venues such as Ronnie Scotts, Pizza Express Soho, 606 Club, Vortex Jazz Club and more!

Meet The Trio
New Zealand-born pianist Rob studied at the Guildhall School of Music, emerging onto the London jazz scene in 2012 and performing with Henry Lowther, Mark Nightingale and Alan Barnes, as well as with his own trio at the City of London Festival and on BBC Radio 3. He is a regular sideman for trumpeter Sean Gibbs, with whom he has featured on two albums for Ubuntu Music. Sandy Brown Jazz credits him with ‘that indefinable charismatic playing that has the ability to move you’.

Born in Poland, based in London, Jakub is a double bass player and composer who currently explores his interest in collaborating with various contemporary composers and jazz musicians such as Ola Onabule, Marco Marconi , Partikel, Duncan Eagles Quartet among others. He studied double bass as a postgraduate at the Royal College of Music. His varied freelance career has taken him to India, Russia, Lebanon and other places around the world.

Born in Denmark, Daniel is a London-based drummer, composer and educator. In 2014 he graduated from Trinity Laban Conservatoire, earning an MMus degree prior to which he graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. During his studies he played in projects that featured Stan Sulzmann, John Surman, John Warren and Gareth Lockrane. Since then he has established himself on the scene and published two drum books. As an artist he has performed in a wide variety of settings, both as a sideman and bandleader.
