Full Biography
Rich vocal harmonies, inventive arrangements, and a repertoire that includes hits by Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, and Louis Armstrong, as well as other slightly lesser-known hidden gems are what set this jazz band apart. They are ideal for any stage, private party, swing dance event, or wedding!
Some of the top musicians in the UK's jazz and swing music scene make up the Paper Moon Jazz Band, they specialise in early jazz and blues, from the 1920s - 1940s and have performed all over the UK. Their most notable performances include the Ferrara Buskers Festival and Glastonbury Festival, they have also performed in New Orleans and European venues at swing dance events.
With a wealth of experience performing classic jazz at weddings, special events, festival stages, and tours around Europe and the UK, you can be sure they will create the ideal performance for your occasion.
Paper Moon Jazz Band offer additional line-up options ranging from an Acoustic Duo to a 7-piece band (see Booking Options for further details).
As multi-instrumentalists, The Paper Moon Jazz Band's sound is diverse and can vary throughout a standard set. They are a collective comprising of a duo/trio, up to a 7-piece band and at its core consists of Female Vocals/Washboard/Accordion, Double Bass/Harmonica, Tenor Banjo/Clarinet/Guitar and Saxophone. They are accompanied by a variety of dynamic soloists that they have encountered while touring, including violin, trumpet, piano, trombone and clarinet.
Please note: Paper Moon Jazz Band perform with light amplification suitable for 'busking style' sets as standard. This set up can be battery operated and is more mobile. For a larger sound system suitable for up to 150 guests, the band can provide a Yamaha Stage PA 600 for a small extra charge. Please see booking options for details.
