Like many people, JB has always been fascinated by music. When he picked up the guitar at 14, he became instantly obsessed. The next obvious step was to form a band. As a teenager, he played in indie and function bands, gaining a comprehensive education in all things audio and events.
JB quickly learned that there's more to music and events than meets the eye, and it's essential to always have backups for everything, from planning to equipment.
He also learned how to read a crowd and feel the mood. Since then, JB has completed a degree in music production and toured with the Pigeon Detectives and the Struts, playing original music.
So, why become a DJ now? The role of a DJ has always fascinated JB because it's very different from being a live musician. As a DJ, you facilitate the party rather than being the person in the spotlight. While JB still enjoys performing, his primary goal as a DJ is to cater to your event and fill the dance floor. This journey began three years ago when a live saxophonist friend needed a DJ and offered to teach him. This led to an amazing crash course in creating magic behind the decks, and soon they were gigging all over the country.
JB's experience and intuition flourished, drawing from his previous knowledge of music genres like Disco, Northern Soul, Motown, Rock, and Indie, combined with his new education in Dance, House, EDM, RnB, and Pop. He enjoys blending different genres to build a mood that caters to all age groups, which is particularly important at weddings.
