Edinburgh-based Djangology brings the lively energy of hot string jazz to life with infectious rhythms, vibrant improvisations, and distinctive gravelly vocals, capturing the spirit of the swing era from the 1920s through the 1940s.
Whether performing on a festival stage or at a cozy cocktail gathering, the band never fails to get toes tapping, hips swaying, and hearts singing. Their years of dedication and masterful musicianship are evident in every performance. The band’s repertoire spans the timeless works of legendary gypsy jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt, classics from the Great American Songbook, and original compositions, as well as swing-infused takes on modern pop hits by artists like Michael Jackson, Abba, and Daft Punk.
They are a regular presence in Edinburgh and across the UK, with notable performances at the Edinburgh Jazz Festival, Aberdeen Jazz Festival, Callander Jazz Festival, Dundee Jazz Club, and Garioch Jazz Club, among others. They’ve also graced the Edinburgh International Film Festival, Kelburn Garden Party, Knockengorroch World Cèilidh, Eden Festival, made TV appearances, and have held a Sunday residency at the Edinburgh Sheraton Hotel since 2016.
