Anna is a dynamic and versatile saxophonist whose high-energy, soulful performances have captivated audiences worldwide. A member of Jools Holland’s Rhythm and Blues Orchestra and formerly of Brooklyn Funk Essentials, she balances an extensive portfolio career spanning touring, recording, arranging, and education. Anna has toured extensively across the UK and Europe, sharing the stage with legendary artists including Rod Stewart, Joss Stone, Marc Almond, KT Tunstall, Lulu and Eddi Reader. Her performances have been broadcast on major BBC productions, including Later with Jools Holland and Jools’ Annual Hootenanny, and she has appeared on national tours with DJ and presenter Sara Cox.
As a recording artist and session musician, Anna has appeared on albums by Rod Stewart, Jools Holland, Incognito, Brooklyn Funk Essentials, The Anna Brooks Quintet, and many more. A world-class arranger, Anna has worked with no.1 artists Raye, Jade Thirlwall, Joss Stone, and Vic Reeves, among many others. As a music copyist, her work has been featured in the BBC’s Doctor Who and Torchwood and films including Angus, Thongs & Perfect Snogging and Ridley Scott's Robin Hood.
Beyond her work as a performer and arranger, Anna spent two years as musical director for The Drifters before taking on similar roles for numerous touring theatre productions, including Roy G Hemmings’ Dictionary of Soul.
Anna graduated with First-Class Honours from Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, where she now tutors in saxophone and improvisation. In addition to her conservatoire teaching, she runs a private teaching practice both online and in person and delivers inspiring workshops and masterclasses across the UK.
